State of Emergency declared in Dobbs Ferry commencing at 8:00PM EST, Saturday, August 27th 2011.

Please note that due to the approaching Hurricane Irene, a State of Emergency has been declared in the Village of Dobbs Ferry commencing at 8:00 PM EST on Saturday August 27, 2011. This State of Emergency will remain in effect until it is rescinded by a subsequent order.

The village's public safety and emergency departments have been in constant contact with the County and neighboring villages and this order is in coordination with those efforts; the potential dangers of the hurricane - during the storm and aftermath - threatens the public safety, and as such the village will use all necessary tools to effectively manage the situation, and to keep everyone as safe as possible.

The one thing we wish to stress the most once the storm arrives ... please do not drive, keep off the streets, and stay inside.

We will keep residents posted as things progress, as best we can.

Sincerely,

Mayor Connett
