Invitation to Bidders
The Village of Dobbs Ferry is requesting that bids be submitted for the repair and replacement of shoreline stabilization for the Waterfront Park shoreline located on West Main Street in Dobbs Ferry, NY.

The scope of work for this project includes the removal of the existing rip rap and concrete rubble, installation of filter fabric, a layer of bedding stone and the replacement of the armor stone rip rap as indicated in the drawings. In select locations the armor stone shall be placed to create steps that allow for access to the waterfront. An existing stacked gravity wall will be left in place and an anchored steel sheet pile wall shall be driven no more than eighteen (18) inches in front of the existing wall. The existing concrete slabs shall be removed as necessary to install the pile cap and tie rods. Clean sand will be placed between the new fiberglass sheet pile wall and existing gravity
wall. The new fiberglass sheet pile wall will be anchored using tie rods and concrete deadmen and capped as indicated on the drawings. Throughout the park a new pedestrian walkway shall be installed. As part of this request for proposal the base for this walkway shall be installed as shown
on the drawings.
The Village of Dobbs Ferry will receive bids at the Office of the Village Clerk, Village Hall, 112 Main Street, Dobbs Ferry, New York 10522, until 10:00 AM on June 17, 2011, at which time they will be opened and read aloud. Each proposal from a Contractor shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check on a solvent bank of the State of New York, in the amount of five percent
(5%) of the total bid. Such check shall be made payable to the "Village of Dobbs Ferry," and the amount thereof shall be the measure of liquidated damages that the Village will sustain by the failure, neglect or refusal of the bidder to execute and deliver the contract, should the contract be
awarded to him/her.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference and project walkthrough will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:00 am, with all contractors assembled at: The Dobbs Ferry Waterfront Park, West of the Metro North Train, Dobbs Ferry, NY. No individual or additional walkthroughs will be performed during the pre-bid time period. Failure to attend the walkthrough shall not be the cause
for extra payment.
The Contractor shall complete all work necessary for substantial completion by April 1, 2013.
Bid packages may be obtained at Village Hall beginning May 23, 2011 upon deposit of nonrefundable one hundred dollars ($100.00) fee per set. Payment shall be made by cash, certified check, bank money order or postal money order. You may also view the Construction Documents free of charge at Village Hall between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday,
