Hartley and his wife Abby have lived in Dobbs Ferry for over 20 years. They have raised 4 children in the Village, Ian, Zach, Sam, and Molly. Hartley has prior experience in government as a Village Trustee from 2003-2006; Hartley graduated from Gettysburg College with a BA in 1978; he currently works in New York City for a global commodity trading and resource company where he is an Executive Director. Hartley has been Mayor since December 2009.
