Remember - All Plastics, Metals, and Glass can be mixed together in your Blue Recycling Bin!
PLASTICS
Plastics able to be recycled:
- All Plastics Coded 1 to 7 (rinsed clean) – If it has a number, it can be recycled!
- All food, beverage, & shampoo containers including:
- Take-out containers
- Yogurt cups
- Soda, water, and milk containers
- Bottle caps
- Dish and laundry detergent bottles
- Flower pots and trays
- Pails
- Household cleaners
Plastics that cannot be recycled:
- Plastic grocery bags, soft stretchy plastic, dry cleaning bags (These items you can recycle at most large grocery stores)
- Plastic packing materials
- Vinyl (tiles, records, CDs)
- Non-coded plastics (toys, hangers, utensils, furniture)
- Styrofoam
- Hazardous materials containers (motor oil, solvents, pesticides, etc.)
- Building materials (PVC piping, bathroom & kitchen fixtures, etc.)
GLASS
Glass able to be recycled:
- Jars and bottles of any size and color, rinsed clean (labels OK)
- Bottle and Jar Caps and Lids - place loose in blue bin
Glass that cannot be recycled:
- light bulbs
- drinking glasses
- crystal
- window & mirror glass
- ceramic ware
- cookware
- hazardous materials containers (example: pesticides or solvents)
PAPER & CARDBOARD
Paper and Cardboard that can be recycled:
- Newspapers & Magazines
- Junk Mail & Glossy Inserts
- Phone Books
- Cardboard (no food traces, corrugated and grey)
- Brown Paper Bags
- Waxed cardboard (example: milk cartons)
Paper and Cardboard that cannot be recycled
- Books--paperbacks or hardcover (Better to Donate to a library)
METAL
Metal items that can be recycled:
- Food & beverage cans/trays
- Clean aluminum foil
- Empty aerosol cans
Metal items that cannot be recycled:
- Paint cans
- Vehicle & household batteries
- Hazardous materials containers (pesticides, glues, solvents, for example)
