Downtown Improvement Committee

Dear Merchant/Business Owner;

Whether you have been here for “ever” or whether you have just arrived, Members of the Downtown Improvement Committee (D.I.C.) would like to welcome you to Dobbs Ferry and thank you for opening your business here. The D.I.C is made up of members of the community who are dedicated to helping every business in Dobbs Ferry realize its fullest potential.

To help the Village help you, we ask that you take a moment to fill out the Business Registration Form and return it, upon completion to Village Hall, attention Village Clerk Elizabeth Dreaper.

In addition to helping us serve you better, the information will also be used by the Village in a variety of ways by providing us with an address to inform you of any policy or law changes, as well as a way to reach you during a possible emergency. This information will be kept confidential.

We also urge every new business to join the Dobbs Ferry Chamber of Commerce.

Their monthly meetings are excellent venues to meet other business owners, share ideas and work together drawing more people to the area. Even if you can’t make their meetings, your dues entitle you to participate in exclusive Chamber events, take advantage of special marketing promos as well as exposure on the website and guarantee you a place in an organization, that , similar to the D.I.C, is committed to helping you.

An empty storefront hurts everyone; just as an attractive and thriving store draws people to the community and benefits everyone.

Please avail yourself of our collective experiences. If there is anything we can do as a group or individually, please do not hesitate to reach out to either members of the D.I.C., the Village Clerk and/or the Chamber of Commerce.

On the other hand, we suggest you find out more about Dobbs, by logging on to our website, www.dobbsferry.com where you will find a lot of information which could be useful to you, such as, Community events (which you can use by adding special events), our schools and educational institutions, our points of cultural interest, parking (permits available to downtown businesses, local ordinances (Sign, refuse, sidewalk permit, etc.), and names of officials.

If you wish, you may send emails to the Village Clerk, Elizabeth Dreaper who will forward them to us, so we may assist you. We wish you the best of luck.
