On March 21, 2023, the Westchester County Board of Elections will conduct a Special Election in the Village of Dobbs Ferry in connection with the referendum on reversing the prohibition against issuing of licenses by New York State for “adult-use retail cannabis dispensaries” in the Village. As with all elections, the polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

All of the regular polling places in the Village will be open.  You should vote at the polling place that you vote at for General Elections.  If you are uncertain of your polling place, please call the Westchester County Board of Elections at:  (914) 995-5700 and they will answer any questions that you have.

You may view the Sample Ballot by clicking on the link in the Special Election notification on the homepage of the Village website at:  
www.dobbsferry.com  Copies of the Sample Ballot are also available at Village Hall Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

On March 21, 2023, the Westchester County Board of Elections will conduct a Special Election in the Village of Dobbs Ferry in connection with the referendum on reversing the prohibition against issuing of licenses by New York State for “adult-use retail cannabis dispensaries” in the Village. As with all elections, the polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The polling places will be determined and staffed by the Westchester County Board of Elections.  They are in the process of confirming the polling places and will let the Village know once that has been finalized.

The Special Election is not eligible for early voting.

Absentee voting will be available and administered by the Board of Elections. 

Residents who would like to apply for absentee voting may do so by any of the following:

  • Electronically through the New York State Absentee Ballot Application Portal
  • Sending an email request to the Westchester County Board of Elections at: BOE-WestAbsentee@westchestergov.com  
  • Sending a fax request to 914-995-7753 or 914-995-3190
  • Going in person to the Westchester County Board of Elections, 25 Quarropas Street, White Plains, NY 10601

The Village will send out updates as we receive further details about the Special Election from the County Board of Elections.  Updates will be posted on the Village website:  www.dobbsferry.com and sent out via e-mail blast.

El 21 de marzo de 2023, la Junta Electoral del Condado de Westchester llevará a cabo una elección especial en la aldea de Dobbs Ferry en relación con el referéndum sobre la revocación de la prohibición de emisión de licencias por parte del estado de Nueva York para "dispensarios minoristas de cannabis para uso de adultos" en la aldea. Como en todas las elecciones, las urnas estarán abiertas de 6:00 a. m. a 9:00 p. m.
