Hurricane Ida follow-up 9/6/21

FEMA assistance: Major Disaster declared

Today Governor Hochul announced that President Biden approved an expedited Major Disaster Declaration for Westchester County. This will make federal financial assistance available to local governments and eligible New Yorkers recovering from the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. According to the announcement, "New Yorkers who have been displaced, including uninsured families, will be eligible for funds for housing assistance, as well as crisis counseling, unemployment assistance, home repairs, and legal services."  As we receive information about how to seek assistance, we will share it with residents.

Volunteers available to help with flood clearance

If you are still having trouble getting assistance with the clean out of flood-affected areas of your home, please reach out to the Village and we can put you in touch with an organization of volunteers who can assist through New York Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster.  Reach out to Alissa Fasman at 231-8512 or afasman@dobbsferry.com to let us know that you are in need of assistance and we will help coordinate with those who may be available to help.
