FEMA assistance: Major Disaster declared
Today Governor Hochul announced that President Biden approved an expedited Major Disaster Declaration for Westchester County. This will make federal financial assistance available to local governments and eligible New Yorkers recovering from the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. According to the announcement, "New Yorkers who have been displaced, including uninsured families, will be eligible for funds for housing assistance, as well as crisis counseling, unemployment assistance, home repairs, and legal services." As we receive information about how to seek assistance, we will share it with residents.
