Parking permits purchased at this time are for the 2023 - 2024 season, and are available ONLY in person at Village Hall.

Parking permits for the 2024 - 2025 season will available for online purchase in May 2024.

Annual Parking Permit Changes 

On June 13, 2023, the Dobbs Ferry Board of Trustees adopted an updated parking permit system for our lots and other permitted parking areas. The updated permits are listed below.

New permits go into effect on July 1, 2023. To purchase a permit, visit the Village Clerk’s office during regular business hours of (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4pm) and make sure to bring the following:

  • Driver’s License
  • Vehicle Registration
  • Proof of Dobbs Ferry residence for residency permits if your address does not match your license or registration (e.g., utility bill)
  • Proof of employment in downtown Dobbs Ferry for business owners and employees seeking 99 Cedar Street merchant permit

Parking Permit Applications

We have instituted an online system for parking permit applications and payments. If you choose to purchase your permit online, instructions can be found here.

Types of Permits and Fee Schedule

For all parking permits:

  • Permits will be issued to a specific vehicle and may not be transferred to another vehicle.  Use of a permit on a vehicle not designated on the permit application may result in permanent revocation of the parking permit.
  • You may receive a Summons if permit is not affixed properly.
    • Square bumper permits must be affixed to left side rear bumper.
    • Residential permits are to be placed on front driver's side window.
    • Hangtag permits must be hung from the rearview mirror.
  • A parking permit does not guarantee availability of a parking space.  No refunds will be issued due to unavailability of a parking space.

DOWNTOWN RESIDENT PERMIT

$125/year; $62.50/year for senior citizens       (pro-rates to half price after December 1)

Allows parking in the Village Hall Lot and Oak Street Lot*

Available to residents of Dobbs Ferry who reside on:

  • Main Street 
  • Cedar Street
  • Draper Lane (Village-owned portion only)
  • Oak Street Elm Street
  • Chestnut Street Walnut Street
  • High Street 
  • Palisade Street
  • Hudson Terrace 
  • Livingston Avenue

 

RESIDENT COMMUTER PERMIT

$500/year       (pro-rates to half price after December 1)

Allows parking Monday-Friday, 5am-2am in the Waterfront Parking Lot except for Recreation parking spaces.

Available to all residents of Dobbs Ferry.

 

NON-RESIDENT COMMUTER PERMIT

$1,400/year    (pro-rates to half price after December 1)

Allows parking Monday-Friday, 5am-2am in the Waterfront Parking Lot except for Recreation parking spaces.

Available to all non-residents of Dobbs Ferry.

 

RESIDENTIAL PARKING PARKING (“HOME-RULE PERMIT”)

$25/year

Available only to Dobbs Ferry residents who reside within the Home-Rule Residential Parking Zone, which is defined as:

  • Oak Street from Broadway to Main Street
  • Elm Street from Broadway to Main Street
  • Chestnut Street from Broadway to Main Street
  • Walnut Street from Broadway to Livingston Avenue
  • Hatch Terrace from Broadway to Walnut Street
  • Cedar Street from Main Street to Palisade Street
  • Palisade Street from Cedar Street to Chestnut Street
  • Riverside Place

Allows on-street parking with no time limits* in the same Home-Rule Residential Parking Zone (streets noted above).

Limit of two Residential Parking Permits per eligible address.

 

99 CEDAR STREET HANGTAG PERMIT

$25/year

Allows parking in the 99 Cedar Street lot with no time limits*

Available to:

  • Owners and employees of businesses in Dobbs Ferry.
  • Residents of Dobbs Ferry who are eligible for the Downtown Resident Permit (see above).

 

RECREATION PARKING PERMIT

$10/year; $5/year for senior citizens**

Available only to Dobbs Ferry residents.

Allows parking in any recreation space in the Waterfront Parking Lot:

  • Monday – Friday, 5am – 5pm for up to 4 consecutive hours
  • Monday – Friday, after 5pm – 2am -- no time limit
  • Saturday – Sunday and holidays observed by the Village –  no time limit from 5am – 2am

Allows parking in any space in Waterfront Lot after 5pm Monday through Friday, and all day Saturday, Sunday and holidays observed by the Village with no time limit

DAILY PARKING PASS

$2/day 

Available only to Dobbs Ferry senior citizens**

Allows parking in any space in Waterfront Parking Lot, 5am – 2am on the date noted on the pass.

Available for purchase at the main desk at Village Hall during regular business hours
