Youth Academy
The Westchester Youth Police Academy is a six-week, full-time internship program for high school seniors in Westchester County who have an interest in criminal justice and law enforcement. The Academy is a collaborative effort between municipal police departments and high schools in Westchester who offer full time internships for students.
The Westchester Youth Police Academy provides students with the unique opportunity to directly experience life as a law enforcement officer and consists of:
- Rigorous Physical Training Running, Calisthenics, Defensive Tactics, Obstacle Course
- College‐level Criminal Justice Instruction NY State Laws, Use of Force, Criminal investigation. Students earn 3 college credits.
- Visit Criminal Justice Facilities Courts, Jail/Prisons, Forensic Labs,9/11 Memorial Museum
- Ride‐along Program Patrol the various municipalities of Westchester County
