A Note to Our Dobbs Ferry Community

To our Dobbs Ferry Community:

We are all shaken by the horrific terrorist attacks by Hamas against the people of Israel, the ongoing loss of lives, and the prospect of protracted violence and devastation to all those who live in the region. We know that many of our neighbors in Dobbs Ferry have ties to Israel and Gaza and are confronting unspeakable tragedies. We share in your heartbreak and stand by you as one community with shared values of humanity, empathy and peace.

Our County Executive, George Latimer, announced this week that flags on Westchester County property will be flying “at half mast to honor those who have tragically lost their lives in the recent attacks.” We join with the county and other communities by also flying our flags at half mast.

If someone you know is in Israel and trying to get back to the US, you can contact our Congressman Jamaal Bowman’s office and they can connect you to the round-the-clock coordinating group at the State Department. https://bowman.house.gov/help-with-a-federal-agency

Please be kind and generous with one another during this fragile time. If there are ways that we can support you, please reach out.
