Recreation Department Update

Good Afternoon,

We hope you are all staying safe, healthy and practicing social distancing!

The mayor sent out an email stating all programs and events in the village are on hold through the end of May. While this may become our reality, many things are up in the air at the moment. We are taking everything day by day and will be making decisions on our programs depending on how events unfold moving forward.

Our Spring Afterschool Program has been delayed, and registration for it suspended for the time being. We hope to still run it, even if it is a shortened session but we are dependent on the school and ultimately, how COVID-19 progresses.

We’re hoping to still have our usual summer programs including camp and the pool, but again this is very dependent on the development of COVID-19. Camp registration is still suspended until further notice. If you have already registered your child for Teen Camp, you still have your spot and in the event that our schedule changes one way or another, we will act accordingly. We will notify you if and when there are any changes.

Since the start of the outbreak, we have been delivering fresh meals to senior citizens in the village throughout the week which will continue. If you are a senior in need of a meal, please call 914-231-8529 to schedule meal deliveries. In addition, we have started a new program, the Senior Angel Community Volunteer Program, which aims to assist seniors who are most at risk from COVID-19 by matching them up with wonderful volunteers in our area to get groceries, medications, and other necessary supplies in a safe manner. If you know of any seniors in Dobbs Ferry that require assistance or wish to add your name to our volunteer list, please email us at recreation@dobbsferry.com or call 914-693-0024.

Warm Regards,
Dobbs Ferry Recreation Department
