Community Campaigns

Sustainable Dobbs has supported targeted informational campaigns to promote the adoption of more sustainable practices for Dobbs Ferry households.

Clean Heating + Cooling: A campaign aimed at educating residents on the benefits of reducing reliance on fossil fuels in their homes. Also called “EnergySmart HOMES,” the campaign encourages home-owners to set up free home energy audits and explains the advantages to energy-efficient heating and cooling systems such as air-source heat pumps and ground-source geothermal systems. Demand Response/ Grid Rewards: A campaign to encourage participation in a program that incentivizes residents to reduce energy consumption in times of peak energy use to help utility companies keep from having to rely on highly polluting "peaker" plants - inefficient and expensive power plants that rely on fossil fuels - especially during the summer months. It's free to join, and residents have the opportunity to earn cash back if they choose to participate. LINK FOR MORE INFO
